Author Guidelines

Research articles should

  • represent original and unpublished work of the author(s) and must not be under consideration by other publications,
  • include a copy of the Internal Review Board (IRB) human subjects approval letter, if applicable (or explain why it was not required),
  • not be more than 3,500 words,
  • mask the names, institutional affiliations, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of all authors throughout the manuscript to ensure anonymity in the reviewing process,
  • be typed, double-spaced throughout, and include block quotes (when necessary) and appropriate references,
  • be formatted using American Psychological Association (APA) style, 6th edition,
  • Have photos and graphics submitted as .jpg, .tif, or .eps files, placed into the Word document. Tables may be placed in Word documents,
  • be formatted and saved in Microsoft Word 2003 or higher; and
  • be read by someone who is not familiar with the topic of the manuscript (for content clarity) as well as copy edited (for grammatical correctness) prior to submission.
  • be formatted according to journal template outline:
  • Journal Template Outline: Abstract (limited to 150 words), include an introduction, a background or literature review, present the main contribution of paper, methodology, findings, discussion, limitations, and conclusions.
  • Papers begin with an introduction that lays the groundwork for why the research that follows is important. The introduction section introduces the research by presenting its context or background and explaining the purpose of this paper. This section often includes the definition of relevant terms, a literature review, any hypothesis, and how this paper differs from other research on this topic.
  • Body of the Paper includes the design/methodology/approach, findings/results and practical implications and any limitations of the paper.
  • Conclusions include a statement of the value added to the body of literature
